Bee Pendants

These silver and gold pendants were commissioned by my son who wanted one for his girl friend’s birthday.
The one on the honeycomb is pretty realistic whereas the silver and gold wire version is more of a playful, cartoon bee. He chose that one and she loved it.
The realistic one is all silver but with gold plating in the honeycomb. I don’t generally use gold plating as it wears off. Not here though. Not unless the bee shuffles her feet.
The wire ‘Bundle-bee’ is made from silver wire interlaced with 18ct gold and he has a little gold bead head. The wings are made with reticulated silver sheet.
I mounted this one on a link chain because I thought that the angle it creates at the bale chimes in with the angles of the hexagon honeycomb.
Both pendants are around 2cm across and you can choose from a 16″ or 18″ chain.

I chose the cartoon bee for my anniversary present this year. It's beautiful. Delicate enough to wear every day but substantial enough o look very special. Thank you Jez.
